Hey, webteam! Welcome to my Photo Hot Spot Blog! Now that you have gone out and looked at blogs that relate to the pages you are responsible for on the website, it is time for a question! How do you feel blogging would help the coaches and sponsors of some of our activities? Should they consider starting their own blog? What would you recommend they put in their blog? What benefits are there to blogging vs having you update their website? Were there certain sites that you liked the blog template or program better than others? I use blogger because it is hooked to the gmail suite - which adds some nice options - but I know there are other programs out there!
Please respond - start your response with your first name so we know who is talking and then add your thoughts by answering the questions above!
Welcome to blogging!

Brendan-
Blogging might help some coaches if people have questions about the team or activity itself they can answer through a blog. Yes i think they should start their own blogs that way they can keep in touch with other people. what i recommend in the bog is questions on the dates/time and what also they have questions about. Discussions on the game they played if it was good or if it was bad, if they won or if they lost. They upside of blogging is its always up to date and the coaches can keep in touch more with people more then a web page with a web page it takes more time with photos and more text that could be from yesterday through last year. When you update a web site it can be erased easily and/or lost in certain ways. with blogging you most likely wont lose the blog. so the benefits with blogging are better then the web pages cause its more up to date and more helpful.
I think that a blog would help the coaches and the students involved a lot because they can post any important information right away and everybody can post a comment on it. For example they can post the scores of the games and pictures, stories and anything they want to share. A blog would be a good idea for the activities. If any changes in the practice schedule occur, then the coach could post it here and everybody can look it up to double check. The advantage of having a blog is that the coach can put up the information right away and has not to wait for the Web team to put it on the Web Site. I like the templates of LiveJournal a lot there are a lot of different designs available.
Brenna- I feel that blogging helps coaches in activities because others can tell them about different drills and it allows you to see how other teams are doing and you can see your progress. I think the coaches at Senior should start a blog as put up what games they win and who they were playing and some helpful drills. the benefit of having a blog would others would be able to comment. All the blog templates were very simple so I didn't like one more than the other.
Tommy Downs says:
I think that they should blog so the Webteam can have a link to their blog, and also so that if anyone wants to put that stuff on the actual website it is easy, just copy the info from their blog.
Comment from Eddie.
I do think that coaches should start up a blog to keep parents and other people up to date on the season. Only problem is that the coaches would need someone to do this for them as they would have no time for it.
As for what putting on it, they should put pictures from the games, the score, comments from the team, some comments from the crowed and highlights from a game. This is also another good way to get the sponsors names out.
I feel that blogger seems to be the best kind to use out there at this point of time.
I think it would be a great idea for coaches to have blogs. It would help keep up to date information on the sport they coach. They could put info from games like the score and the top scorer. They could also post pics on the blog of the games. As for what blog to use, I wouldn't know, because I haven't blogged a whole too much
A blog for an activity would make giving updates much easier and information could be added anytime from anywhere as opposed to select computers in the school.
A blog would allow for more information to be posted, like game by game results, because adding much content to a webpage would make for a very large wordy site.
Another advantage of blogging is that you can get feedback from the community, although it would have to be monitored, comments would make the blog more interesting.
